Alternatif Bank Provided TRY 66 billion Support to the Economy

Alternatif Bank announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2024. According to consolidated figures, the Bank, having continued its stable performance, had TRY 71 billion in assets and provided TRY 66 billion support with cash and non-cash loans to the local economy. Consolidated net profit of Alternatif Bank realized as TRY 553 million as of the first quarter of the year.

According to the consolidated figures for 1Q24, total asset size of Alternatif Bank realized as TRY 71 billion. The support, provided by the Bank to the local economy with cash (including leading receivables) and non-cash loans during this period, was TRY 66 billion. Capital adequacy ratio of Alternatif Bank, having increased its equities to TRY 6.8 billion, has become 27,2%. Thanks to its stable performance achieved in the first quarter of 2024, Alternatif Bank’s consolidated net profit for the period realized as TRY 553 million.

Alternatif Bank CEO Ozan Kırmızı evaluated the first quarter of 2024 and stated: “In the first quarter of the year, during which important developments that impacted global economy have been experienced, we fulfilled our responsibilities to our stakeholders and local economy, and continued to advance toward our goals with firm steps. We preserved our high asset quality and performed an effective balance sheet management in the first three months of the year.”

Ozan Kırmızı, emphasizing that, in addition to the competent staff and strong corporate management standards of the Bank, the importance of its hard efforts in the fields of retail and digitalization was also important in the successful results achieved by Alternatif Bank, continued his statement: “As Alternatif Bank, we continue to expand our customer base with a strong growth in digital and retail banking. We reached one of the milestones that we considered to be important in this sense and we launched our recently renewed mobile application to our customers. With our service model and renewed mobile application, under which we combine the convenience of digital banking with human touch, which is one of the key points that carry us forward in competition, we offer our customers with the opportunity to contact bank employees, who are specifically assigned to them, directly whenever they need. I believe that our Bank asserted itself in retail and digital banking with these studies that we have implemented. In line with our “exquisite customer experience” goal, we will continue adding value to the lives of our customers with benefits such as convenience, speed, and service diversity that we offer through digital channels.”

“We conducted the first social impact survey specific to Accessible Banking in Turkey”

Ozan Kırmızı also expressed his opinions about the activities of Alternatif Bank in the field of Accessible Banking and stated: “As Alternatif Bank, with our Accessible Banking studies that we have been conducting for 5 years, we believe in the importance of designing and offering banking services so that they are accessible by everyone and we maintain our operations with an approach ‘based on not aids, but rights’. One of our newest studies in this scope is the first comprehensive social impact survey specific to Accessible Banking, which might set an example in Turkey, that we conducted in cooperation with Koç University Social Impact Forum (KUSIF). Thanks to the survey, we measured the impact and awareness created by activities, which we have conducted since 2019, in our stakeholders and the general public in terms of accessibility and removing obstacles. The survey indicated objectively that our Bank takes the rights steps toward achieving the change and impact goal we desire to create. Comprehensive measurements and findings that we obtained as a result of studies that lasted 6 months will shape our studies in the upcoming period. We will consider Accessible Banking as complementary to our pursuit of excellence in our personnel and customer experience, as well as a part of our brand identity, and we will continue our studies in this area without slowing down.”
