Alternatif Bank launched another important cooperation in 2025 in line with its Accessible Banking vision. The Bank cooperated with the Financial Literacy and Access Association (FODER) to make the ‘Basic Financial Literacy Training Series’, launched on FinKurs (www.finkurs.org) platform, available to the deaf individuals with the aim of eliminating obstacles to financial knowledge and offering equal and accessible information to everyone.   

Alternatif Bank, acting with Accessible Banking vision that focuses on social inclusion and equal opportunity, took an important step attı. The Bank launched a cooperation with Financial Literacy and Access Association (FODER) to make financial literacy accessible to everyone. In the scope of this cooperation, ‘Basic Financial Literacy Training Series’, launched on FinKurs platform developed by FODER and comprising eight modules in total, was re-edited so that it can be used by deaf individuals in addition to the contents that are currently available for blind individuals. Training videos were enhanced with sign language and Turkish subtitle support, and made available to the public free of charge. Thus, it is aimed to provide equal opportunities to the deaf individuals in their financial literacy journey. 

“Our priority is to eliminate all obstacles to accessing financial knowledge”

Alternatif Bank CEO Ozan Kırmızı emphasized that their priority was to eliminate all obstacles to accessing financial knowledge with the project and made the following remarks:

“As Alternatif Bank, we adopt an inclusive and sustainable banking approach that provides equal opportunity to all segments of the society. An important part of this approach is making financial knowledge accessible to everyone. Because we believe that financial knowledge supports not only individual improvement, but also a more inclusive and strong economic structure. Our cooperation with FODER is one of the valuable steps that we have taken in line with our Accessible Banking vision.  In the first phase of the project, we made available the financial literacy training series on FinKurs platform with sign language and subtitle support so that it can be conveniently followed by the deaf individuals. Thanks to this cooperation, we took an important step to make financial literacy equal, accessible, and sustainable for everyone. 

We are also pleased to see that our activities in the field of Accessible Banking receive strong support different segments of the society, beyond this project. The bronze prize under the category ‘The Most Popular Social Responsibility Project Among the Youth’ awarded to us recently on account of our Accessible Banking activities in the Youth Awards organized by Youthall, a career platform for the youth, has been a solid indicator of our advance in the correct path and the impact we created. In the future, we will continue our commitment to projects that will eliminate obstacles to accessing financial knowledge and contribute to every segment of the society.”

Financial Literacy and Access Association (FODER) Chairman Zekeriya Öztürk made the following remarks about the cooperation: 

“Financial literacy is a fundamental skill that is needed by everyone in their lives. As FODER, our purpose is to enable every segment of the society to have equal access to this knowledge. This cooperation, which we launched with Alternatif Bank, has been a pioneering step that increased the inclusivity of financial training. We are extremely pleased that the deaf individuals can also have convenient access to financial knowledge thanks to the contents prepared with the support of sign language and subtitles. This activity will contribute to creation of a more inclusive financial culture and strengthen FODER’s social responsibility vision in the field of financial literacy.”
