Alternatif Bank and Microsoft Türkiye present: "Accessible Banking Hackathon”
Alternatif Bank launches the Accessible Banking Hackathon, which will provide new perspectives for a more accessible banking experience, in cooperation with Microsoft Türkiye!
Alternatif Bank not only maintains its activities that offer equal and convenient access to banking services for everyone thanks to its “accessible banking” approach, but also continues to take remarkable steps to increase participation in this area and implement creative ideas. Accordingly, the Bank aims to make banking services more accessible for everyone thanks to creative ideas of the youth with the ‘Accessible Banking Hackathon' that it launches in cooperation with Microsoft Türkiye.
Hackathon event shall take place in Microsoft İstanbul Office on October 23 and 24 in cooperation with Microsoft Türkiye. Participants will both develop artificial intelligence solutions on Microsoft Azure platform and receive mentorship support from Alternatif Bank and Microsoft teams.
“We will steer Accessible Banking with the energy and creative perspective of the youth”
Alternatif Bank Information Technologies and Operations EVP Zafer Vatansever made the following remarks about the hackathon:
“We believe that social sensitivity and innovative perspective of the youth will make valuable contributions to our goal of strengthening financial access. We aim to come together with university students and new graduates to design the future of Accessible Banking together in the hackathon to be organized in cooperation with Microsoft Türkiye. This hackathon will not only emphasize our digitalization strategy once again, but also support the development of innovative solutions that will facilitate daily banking experiences of disabled individuals and make life more practical. As Alternatif Bank, we will continue to do our share for an accessible world. We intend for our steps to reflect on our sector, institutions, and municipalities and set an example for our country”.
Microsoft Türkiye Corporate Solution Sales and D&I EVP Elif Acar Özgüner shared her opinions about the event and stated, “Developing and improving social, work, and education lives of the disabled thanks to the power of artificial intelligence is a crucial title for Microsoft; because, we know that the technologies that we develop are valuable only to the extent that they are inclusive. In order to facilitate life for the disabled, we come together with many leading institutions and develop joint projects based on artificial intelligence in line with their needs. ‘Accessible Banking Hackathon’ emerged as an outcome of such a study”.
A total of TRY 180k reward to the participants!
In this hackathon, which combines technology, creativity, and social benefit under the theme of ‘accessibility’, participants will develop innovative solutions that will facilitate access to banking products and services and make daily banking experience more efficient for the disabled. Teams can compete with minimum 2 and maximum 5 individuals in the hackathon, which is open to all university students (associate degree, undergraduate, graduate) in Türkiye.
Groups that qualify in the hackathon will be rewarded with cash prizes to be given by Alternatif Bank; the first group will receive TRY 100,000, the second group will receive TRY 50,000, and the third group will receive TRY 30,000.
