Belma Özmen, a highly experienced figure in the sector, has been appointed to Alternatif Bank’s Board of Directors.

Alternatif Bank, which continues its operations in Türkiye with a strong commitment to corporate governance principles and a competent management team, has announced a new appointment to its Board of Directors. The Bank stated that, following the completion of the regulatory formalities, Belma Özmen will be appointed to the Board of Directors as Chair of the Board Audit and Compliance Committee. 

With this change in the Board of Directors, Ms Özmen will assume the role of Chair of the Board Audit and Compliance Committee, in addition to serving as a member of the Board Risk Committee. Having spent a significant part of her 40-year career at JP Morgan, she held senior leadership responsibilities across critical banking functions such as credit, operations and internal systems. She most recently served as Chair of the Board of Managers at JP Morgan. For the past six years, she was serving as the Board Member and Chair of the Audit Committee at Standard Chartered.

About Belma Özmen

Belma Özmen completed her undergraduate degree in Economics at Hacettepe University in 1978 and began her career as an economist at Türkiye İş Bankası. She joined JP Morgan Türkiye in 1987, where she assumed managerial responsibilities across critical banking functions, including credit, operations and internal systems. She most recently served as Chair of the Board of Managers at JP Morgan. For the past six years, she was serving as the Board Member and Chair of the Audit Committee at Standard Chartered. With extensive experience and expertise across multiple fields of banking, Ms Özmen was appointed as a Member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Board Audit and Compliance Committee at Alternatif Bank in November 2025.
